About Mrs. Bailey
My name is Ashley Bailey and I am the Art teacher at Harmony School of Excellence. This is my first year at Harmony, but my fourth year of teaching. I recently moved to Austin from Chicago, where I taught Art for three years at a middle school in the city.
I am a graduate of North Park University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I hold a Teaching Certificate for Elementary K-8, as well as endorsements in EC-12 Art and EC-12 Special Education. Prior to teaching at Harmony, not only was I an Art teacher in Chicago, but I was a one-on-one aide in a Special Education room at Rutledge Hall in Lincolnwood, IL. This is the school at which I also completed my student teaching. In my spare time, I enjoy creating my own artwork, especially drawings and photographs. I also enjoy outdoor activities, such as running, biking, hiking, and snowboarding. Additional hobbies include reading and knitting. My future goals are to obtain a Masters degree in education and to continue honing my skills in the art of teaching!
